Ingredients

Scale

For the Sticky Honey Garlic Pork:

  • 1 lb pork tenderloin, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (about 34 cloves)
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the pork: In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, rice vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well to blend all ingredients. Add the sliced pork tenderloin and toss to coat evenly. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Prepare the cornstarch slurry: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth and lump-free. Add this mixture to the marinated pork and stir well to combine, which will help thicken the sauce later.
  3. Cook the pork: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork pieces along with the slurry. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pork is browned on the outside and cooked through.
  4. Simmer the sauce: Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet with the pork. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and continue cooking for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze that coats the pork pieces beautifully.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds on top. Serve the sticky honey garlic pork hot, ideally over steamed rice or with your choice of vegetables.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Ensure pork is cut into uniform bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavor.
