Mac & Cheese
- 1 box Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, prepared according to box directions
Protein
- 4 Oscar Mayer Wieners (hot dogs)
- 8 slices Oscar Mayer Bacon
- 8 Kraft American Cheese Singles
Other Ingredients
- 2 flour tortillas
- Heinz Ketchup for dipping
- Cooking spray or butter (for greasing skillet and tortillas)
- Prepare Macaroni & Cheese: Cook Kraft Macaroni & Cheese following the package directions until creamy and set aside.
- Cook Bacon: In a skillet or pan, cook the 8 slices of bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Cook Hot Dogs: Warm the Oscar Mayer Wieners by pan-frying, grilling, or microwaving until heated through. Once warm, slice them into rounds for filling.
- Preheat Skillet: Lightly grease a medium skillet with cooking spray or butter and heat over medium heat.
- Assemble Quesadilla Bottom Layer: Place one flour tortilla flat in the skillet. Tear one slice of Kraft American Cheese into pieces and spread over the tortilla evenly.
- Add Fillings: Spoon about 1/2 cup of prepared Kraft Macaroni & Cheese evenly atop the cheese. Add 2 slices of cooked bacon and several slices of hot dog rounds evenly over the macaroni and cheese.
- Add Top Cheese Layer: Tear another slice of Kraft American Cheese into pieces and arrange over the toppings.
- Top with Second Tortilla: Place the second flour tortilla on top of the cheese layer and lightly spray the surface with cooking spray or lightly brush with butter for optimal browning.
- Cook First Side: Let the quesadilla cook over medium heat until the bottom tortilla is golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip Quesadilla: Carefully flip the quesadilla using a spatula and cook the other side until golden brown and cheese is melted, another 3-4 minutes.
- Serve: Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and slice into quarters. Serve warm with Heinz Ketchup for dipping.
Notes
- For a crispier quesadilla, use a little butter instead of cooking spray.
- You can substitute different cheeses according to preference, but American cheese melts best for this recipe.
- To save time, prepare the bacon and hot dogs in advance and assemble the quesadilla just before cooking.
- Microwaving hot dogs is the quickest method, but pan-frying or grilling adds extra flavor.
- Use medium heat to avoid burning the tortillas while ensuring cheese melts thoroughly.
