Ingredients

Scale

Crab Filling

  • 240 g cooked crab meat, chopped (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (4 g) Old Bay seasoning or seafood seasoning
  • 56 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Dough

  • 1 can (226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Optional Garnish

  • Chopped parsley or paprika for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Crab Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped crab meat, finely chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated and form a creamy filling.
  3. Assemble Crescents: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling onto the wide end of each triangle. Carefully roll each triangle up, forming a crescent shape with the filling sealed inside.
  4. Bake: Arrange the filled crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are puffed up and golden brown.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Once baked, remove the crescent bites from the oven and let them cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley or paprika for an extra pop of color and flavor before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh or canned crab meat for best flavor; imitation crab can be used as a budget-friendly alternative.
  • For a spicier kick, add a dash of cayenne pepper to the crab mixture.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to make mixing easier and to achieve a creamy texture.
  • These bites can be made ahead and baked just before serving for maximum freshness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheat in the oven for best texture.
