Ingredients

Scale

Pasta and Meat

  • 1 lb rigatoni pasta, cooked and drained
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage

Vegetables and Sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cups marinara sauce

Cheese and Seasonings

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) to prepare for baking the pasta dish.
  2. Cook Sausage and Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground Italian sausage and cook, stirring frequently, until it is partially cooked. Then add sliced green bell pepper and onion, continuing to cook until the sausage is fully cooked and the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Combine Ingredients in Baking Dish: In a 9×13 inch baking dish, combine the cooked rigatoni pasta with the sausage and vegetable mixture, marinara sauce, and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper to taste. Gently stir everything together to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  4. Top and Bake: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the pasta mixture. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the pasta bake from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
