Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Base

  • 3642 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided (more or less to adjust color)

Coating and Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor or smash in a sealed bag until finely crushed into crumbs to create the truffle base.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese and Color: Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a mixer or keep in the food processor. Add softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring. Mix until the mixture is fully combined and smooth for a consistent texture.
  3. Form the Truffles: Check the mixture’s consistency; if too thin, add more cookie crumbs. Use a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, or teaspoon to scoop uniform amounts. Roll each scoop between your palms to form smooth, round balls about 1¼ inches in diameter.
  4. Freeze the Truffle Balls: Place the formed truffle balls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and freeze while you prepare the coating. This helps them retain shape during dipping. You should get about 24 truffles.
  5. Melt the Vanilla Candy Coating: Break the vanilla candy coating into pieces and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring well between each, until fully melted and smooth, approximately 1-2 minutes.
  6. Dip the Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each chilled truffle into the melted vanilla coating. Gently tap the bottom against the bowl edge to remove any excess coating for an even finish.
  7. Decorate the Truffles: Place each dipped truffle back onto the parchment paper, then immediately sprinkle with your favorite Valentine sprinkles before the coating sets for a festive look.
  8. Repeat Dipping and Decorating: Continue dipping and decorating the remaining truffles until all are coated and garnished.
  9. Chill to Set the Coating: Refrigerate the tray of truffles for at least 15 minutes until the coating firms up. Serve at room temperature for optimal taste and texture. Enjoy your Valentine’s Pink Oreo Truffles!

Notes

  • Storage: Store Oreo balls in the refrigerator until serving. Though best cold, they can safely stay at room temperature for up to 2 hours due to the cream cheese content.
  • Refrigeration: Leftover truffles should be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
  • Freezing: Freeze truffles for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving for best texture.
