Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 2 small chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning (or salt, pepper, garlic powder)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic Butter Mix

  • 1 ½ sticks unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic (or garlic paste)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Bread and Cheese

  • 1 Italian-style loaf
  • ¼ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauce

  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Season and Cook Chicken: Rub the chicken breasts evenly with the poultry seasoning or a mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then cook the chicken breasts until fully cooked and golden brown on both sides, about 5–7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove from skillet and let rest.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and crushed red pepper flakes. Allow it to infuse gently for about 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  3. Make Alfredo Sauce: Using the same skillet, pour in the heavy cream and warm it over medium-low heat. Gradually add the shredded parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth. Remove from heat.
  4. Prepare Bread: Slice the Italian loaf horizontally into two halves. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly across both halves of the bread.
  5. Assemble the Bread: Slice the cooked chicken breasts into thin strips and layer them evenly over the buttered bread. Pour the Alfredo sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the bread are crispy.
  7. Serve: Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then slice and serve warm as a hearty appetizer or main dish.

Notes

  • You can substitute poultry seasoning with a mix of garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper if unavailable.
  • For extra creaminess, add a little more heavy cream or cheese to the Alfredo sauce.
  • Use fresh garlic for more pronounced flavor in the garlic butter mixture.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to retain crispiness.
