Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 216 grams (1 package) Golden Oreos, finely crushed
  • 8 ounce block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup finely diced fresh strawberries
  • 1 tsp strawberry Jell-O powder (dry, not prepared)

Coating

  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • Optional: sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the truffle mixture: In a large bowl, beat together the finely crushed Golden Oreos, softened cream cheese, finely diced fresh strawberries, and strawberry Jell-O powder until smooth and well combined.
  2. Form the truffle balls: Using a 2-tablespoon sized cookie scoop, scoop the truffle batter into balls and place them on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
  3. Freeze the truffles: Place the baking sheet with the truffles into the freezer for at least 2 hours to chill thoroughly before dipping.
  4. Melt the white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave, starting with 1 minute, then stirring well. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Dip the truffles: Remove only 3 truffles at a time from the freezer to avoid melting. Fully coat each truffle in the melted white chocolate using a fork, lightly tapping on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  6. Add toppings and set: Optionally sprinkle with sprinkles before placing the coated truffles back on the cold baking sheet. Return them to the freezer to allow the chocolate coating to harden.
  7. Final chilling: Let the coated truffles set in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before serving to ensure the chocolate is firm.

Notes

  • Make sure you freeze your truffles before coating them in chocolate to prevent crumbs in the melted chocolate and achieve a smooth finish.
  • Use room temperature cream cheese to make mixing easier and smoother.
  • Crush the Oreos finely using a food processor for best texture.
  • Use dry strawberry Jell-O powder instead of prepared gelatin for the correct flavor and consistency.
  • Store finished truffles in the freezer for optimal firmness and freshness.
