Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 15 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 15 tablespoons Butter (Salted, Sweet Cream Butter recommended)
  • 15 cups Mini Marshmallows

Coloring

  • Wilton Color Right Food Coloring (various colors for decorating)

Instructions

  1. Melt Butter: Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a medium pan over low heat to ensure it doesn’t burn and melts evenly.
  2. Melt Marshmallows: Add 3 cups of mini marshmallows to the melted butter and stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Remove from Heat: Take the pan off the stove to prevent the marshmallow mixture from burning or sticking.
  4. Add Food Coloring: Add a few drops of Wilton Color Right Food Coloring to the melted marshmallow mixture and mix well until the color is evenly distributed.
  5. Mix with Cereal: Add 3 cups of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal to the colored marshmallow mixture and stir until every piece of cereal is fully coated.
  6. Cool Slightly: Allow the mixture to cool for a few minutes so it’s safe to handle but still malleable.
  7. Shape Easter Eggs: Using your hands, grab a handful of the mixture and shape it into an egg form. Press and mold gently to keep the shape intact.
  8. Set Aside to Cool: Place the shaped Easter Eggs on a parchment-lined surface and allow them to cool completely to set.
  9. Repeat: Repeat the entire process for each of the remaining colors, using the remaining butter, marshmallows, and cereal divided equally per color batch (3 cups cereal, 3 tbsp butter, and 3 cups marshmallows per color batch).
