Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 pkg 12 count King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
  • 2 cups shredded roast beef
  • 12 slices American cheese
  • 3 Tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or garlic paste

Topping Glaze

  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds or sesame seeds

Garnish

  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350℉. Lightly spray a 9×13 inch baking pan with cooking spray or line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the sliders after baking.
  2. Slice the Rolls: Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally so that the top half forms one slab and the bottom half forms another slab, keeping all rolls attached as a single piece.
  3. Make Garlic Mayo Spread: In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the mayonnaise and garlic powder or paste. Evenly spread this garlic mayo mixture over the bottom half of the sliced rolls, which will add moisture and flavor.
  4. Layer Roast Beef and Cheese: Spread the shredded roast beef evenly over the mayo-coated bottom rolls. Then layer the slices of American cheese evenly on top of the roast beef. Cover the assembled layers with the top half of the buns.
  5. Prepare Butter Glaze and Brush: Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan. Stir in the brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Generously brush this glaze over the top half of the rolls. Sprinkle with poppy seeds or sesame seeds if desired for added texture and appearance.
  6. Bake Covered and Uncovered: Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Then remove the foil and continue baking uncovered for an additional 5 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Rest and Cut: Remove the baked sliders from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes to help the layers set and stay intact. Transfer to a cutting board and carefully cut between the rolls to form 12 individual sliders.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Optionally, sprinkle the sliders with parsley flakes and grated Parmesan cheese for an extra burst of flavor and visual appeal. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a serrated knife to slice the rolls to avoid squishing the soft bread.
  • Feel free to substitute American cheese with your favorite melting cheese like cheddar or Swiss.
  • For added flavor, you can warm the roast beef slightly before assembling.
  • Poppy seeds add a traditional look, but sesame seeds or omit seeds as preferred.
  • Leftover sliders can be reheated covered in the oven or microwave for a quick snack.
