Ingredients

Scale

Ground Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 tsp minced ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Noodles and Garnish

  • 1 12 ounce box of Linguine Noodles
  • 4 green onions, diced for garnish
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté Aromatics and Brown Beef: In a large skillet or pan over medium-high heat, add the lean ground beef. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary. Add the minced ginger and garlic, sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: Lower the heat to medium and add the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, red pepper flakes, and black pepper to the pan. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Let the sauce simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly and the flavors to meld.
  4. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked linguine noodles directly into the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss everything together thoroughly to evenly coat the noodles with the sauce and distribute the beef.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from heat. Plate the noodles and beef mixture, then garnish generously with diced green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content and make it healthier.
  • Substitute linguine with other noodles such as spaghetti or chow mein noodles based on preference.
  • To add vegetables, consider tossing in sliced bell peppers or snap peas during step 3.
  • Make sure to drain the noodles well to avoid a watery sauce.
