Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp Marinade

  • 400 g Large Argentinian Shrimp, peeled and dried
  • ½ Juice from Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Shrimp Sauce

  • 3 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 200 ml Tomato Sauce
  • 500 ml Heavy Cream
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • Parmesan, grated (optional)
  • Fresh Basil (optional)

Pasta

  • 300 g Linguine Pasta
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the shrimp with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano. Toss well to coat all shrimp evenly and let marinate for at least 10-15 minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  2. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the marinated shrimp and sauté for about 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir well. Slowly add the heavy cream, mixing everything to create a smooth, creamy sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and additional garlic powder, paprika powders, and oregano to taste.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the sauce. Add the cooked linguine pasta as well and mix thoroughly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it to your desired consistency.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the pasta. Optionally, garnish with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor experience.

Notes

  • Ensure shrimp is fully peeled and dried before marinating for better flavor absorption.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic and paprika powders based on your spice preference.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a lighter cream alternative.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad or crusty garlic bread.
