Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 1.251.5 lbs (550650 grams) whole large salmon filet
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper

Greek Yogurt Mustard Sauce

  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Smak Dab White Wine & Herb Mustard (or Dijon, Old Style Dijon, grainy, or other white wine mustard)
  • 2 tsp fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1/2 lemon, zested
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 large (or 2 small) cloves garlic, pressed
  • 3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1/3 cup chopped salted pistachios
  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped dill
  • Olive oil, for drizzling
  • Squeeze of lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the whole salmon filet on a lined baking sheet. Pat it dry with paper towels. Season the salmon evenly with salt and ground pepper to taste.
  2. Make the Yogurt Mustard Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt, white wine and herb mustard, chopped fresh dill, lemon zest, lemon juice, pressed garlic, and crumbled feta cheese. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  3. Top the Salmon: Spread the yogurt mustard sauce evenly over the top of the seasoned salmon filet, covering it completely for maximum flavor.
  4. Bake the Salmon: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the salmon for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The yogurt and feta topping will become slightly golden and set.
  5. Add Festive Toppings: Remove the baked salmon from the oven and sprinkle the top with pomegranate seeds, chopped salted pistachios, and fresh chopped dill. Drizzle with a little olive oil and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired.
  6. Serve: Carefully transfer the salmon to a serving platter or individual plates. Serve warm as an elegant centerpiece for your holiday meal.

Notes

  • The recipe works well with any white wine mustard if Smak Dab brand is unavailable.
  • For a milder garlic flavor, reduce to one small clove.
  • To make preparation easier, have all ingredients ready before starting.
  • This dish pairs beautifully with roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or steamed greens.
  • Leftover salmon can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
