Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 can (226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Filling

  • 240 g cooked crab meat, chopped (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (4 g) Old Bay seasoning or seafood seasoning
  • 56 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Finishing Touch

  • Chopped parsley or paprika for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the crescent bites.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the chopped crab meat, softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, finely chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and create a creamy, flavorful filling.
  3. Roll out Crescent Dough: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough onto a clean surface and separate it into individual triangles along the perforations.
  4. Fill Dough Triangles: Place a spoonful of the crab filling onto the wider end of each crescent dough triangle. Be careful not to overfill to prevent leakage during baking.
  5. Shape the Bites: Carefully roll each filled triangle starting from the wide end toward the narrow point, forming crescent-shaped bites with the filling enclosed inside.
  6. Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, then optionally garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of paprika for a pop of color and extra flavor. Serve warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Use fresh or canned crab meat, or imitation crab if desired, for different flavor profiles and cost considerations.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste; adding a bit more Old Bay seasoning can enhance the seafood flavor.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to blend easily with other filling ingredients.
  • Do not overfill crescent rolls to prevent filling from oozing out during baking.
  • These bites can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking for convenience.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce such as a spicy aioli or cocktail sauce for added variety.
