Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix
  • 1 tsp Tony Chachere’s More Spice Seasoning (adjust to taste)

Dairy

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 ½ cups milk
  • 1 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Meat and Vegetables

  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add 8 oz penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the sausage and bell pepper: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tbsp butter. Add the 12 oz sliced smoked sausage and 1 sliced bell pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is browned and the bell pepper softens, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Alfredo sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour in 2 ½ cups milk and sprinkle in 1 packet Tony Chachere’s Creole Alfredo Sauce Mix along with 1 tsp More Spice Seasoning. Stir well to combine, allowing the sauce to heat and thicken slightly, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine pasta and sauce: Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sausage and bell pepper mixture. Toss everything together to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
  5. Add the cheese: Sprinkle 1 ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese over the pasta mixture. Stir gently until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce, coating all ingredients smoothly.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the Cajun Sausage Alfredo Pasta hot. Garnish with additional Creole seasoning or parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can use smoked kielbasa or Andouille sausage as alternatives to smoked sausage.
  • Adjust the More Spice Seasoning to your preferred heat level.
  • Use whole milk for creamier sauce or low-fat milk for a lighter version.
  • For added freshness, garnish with chopped parsley or green onions.
  • To make this dish gluten-free, substitute penne pasta with gluten-free pasta.
