Ingredients

Scale

For the Big Mac Sauce

  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
  • ½ tsp Tabasco or your favourite hot sauce
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp mustard

For Serving

  • 1 iceberg lettuce leaf, finely sliced
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped dill pickles

For the Big Mac Tacos

  • 200 g ground beef (10% fat)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 small flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil for cooking
  • 8 slices of American cheese or American cheddar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Big Mac Sauce: In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, Tabasco, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Mix well until smooth and set aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Season the beef: Place the ground beef in a bowl and season with salt and pepper. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.
  3. Cook the beef patties: Heat a little vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Divide the beef into four portions and press them flat to form small patties (smash style). Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until nicely browned and cooked through.
  4. Add cheese slices: Place two slices of American cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  5. Warm the tortillas: In a separate pan or in the same skillet after cooking the patties, warm the flour tortillas until soft and pliable.
  6. Assemble the tacos: Spread a generous amount of the Big Mac sauce onto each tortilla. Add the cheesy beef patties, then top with finely sliced iceberg lettuce and chopped dill pickles.
  7. Serve immediately: Fold the tortillas and serve the Big Mac Tacos hot for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • For extra authenticity, you can add a few sliced onions or a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top.
  • Use 10% fat ground beef for juicy patties; leaner beef may result in drier tacos.
  • If you prefer a spicier sauce, increase the amount of Tabasco or hot sauce to taste.
  • Warm the tortillas over low heat to avoid drying them out or making them brittle.
  • These tacos are best eaten fresh as the tortillas may become soggy if left to sit.
