Meat
Garlic Parmesan Mixture
- 1 Cup Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Stick Unsalted Butter, Melted
- 5–6 Cloves Minced Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Freshly Chopped Parsley
- ½ Teaspoon Oregano
Seasonings and Oils
- 1½ Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1½ Teaspoon Onion Powder
- Kosher Salt and Black Pepper, as needed
- Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (Optional)
- 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the pork chops after searing.
- Prepare Garlic Parmesan Mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the grated parmesan cheese, melted butter, minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and freshly chopped parsley until combined. Set this flavorful mixture aside.
- Season Pork Chops: Coat each pork chop with about 1 tablespoon of canola oil on both sides. Then season generously with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper if using.
- Heat Skillet: Add 1 tablespoon of canola oil to a large oven-safe cast iron skillet and heat over medium heat on the stovetop.
- Sear Pork Chops: Place the pork chops in the skillet in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until they develop a golden-brown crust. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan. After searing, return all pork chops back to the skillet.
- Add Garlic Butter Mixture: Pour the prepared garlic parmesan butter mixture evenly on top of all the pork chops in the skillet.
- Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake the pork chops for 15-20 minutes or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F indicating they are safely cooked and juicy.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring tender and moist meat. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Use an oven-safe skillet like cast iron for best results and easy transfer from stovetop to oven.
- Internal temperature should reach 145°F for safe consumption of pork.
- If desired, the cayenne pepper can be omitted to reduce spiciness.
- Allowing the meat to rest after baking helps retain juices and improves texture.
- You can substitute canola oil with olive oil if preferred.
