Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 300 g (10.5 oz) ribeye steak, chopped into 1 inch (2.5 cm) pieces
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (avocado oil recommended)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (red pepper flakes)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (or garlic salt, omit salt if using garlic salt)
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • Freshly chopped parsley for serving

Optional Charred Peppers & Green Beans (for rice bowl)

  • ½ red bell pepper, chopped into chunky pieces
  • ½ yellow bell pepper, chopped into chunky pieces
  • 60 g (1 1/4 oz) green beans, chopped into 1 inch pieces
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Oil spray (about 10 squirts)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) and let it preheat for 5 minutes to ensure a hot environment for cooking the steak bites evenly.
  2. Prepare the steak: Place the ribeye steak chunks into a mixing bowl. Drizzle the 1 tablespoon of neutral oil over them to help the seasoning stick and promote a nice crust during cooking.
  3. Season the steak: Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, chili flakes, garlic powder, dried oregano, and smoked paprika evenly over the steak pieces. Toss everything together thoroughly to coat each piece well.
  4. Cook in the air fryer: Transfer the seasoned steak bites into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking or tossing the basket halfway through to ensure even browning and to form a golden crust on all sides.
  5. Rest and serve: Remove the steak bites from the air fryer and let them rest on a warm plate for 2 to 3 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving to add a fresh, vibrant touch.
  6. Optional – Charred peppers and green beans: For a rice bowl variation, place the chopped red and yellow bell peppers and green beans into the air fryer basket. Season with ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper, spray with oil, and air fry at 200°C (400°F) for 5 minutes until charred and tender.

Notes

  • You can substitute ribeye with other tender steaks like sirloin or filet mignon for this recipe.
  • Use garlic salt instead of garlic powder by omitting the extra salt to avoid oversalting.
  • The cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model and steak piece size; adjust accordingly for preferred doneness.
  • For an added twist, serve steak bites over rice with the optional charred peppers and green beans.
  • If you prefer less spicy, reduce or omit the chili flakes.
